Guitar Repair
Gibson SG
Fingerboard

This vintage guitar had received some bad repair. The frets had been replaced and some deep gouges left in the fingerboard, binding and inlays. Also, the guitar had been refinished and the finish was not adhering to the wood very well.

The customer does not always know best. In this case, best was described as 'best for the instrument'. This guitar is probably from the '60's and warranted some careful management.

Overcoming poorly executed repair is hard enough, but when the instrument's owner is resistant to expert guidance things become even more complicated.

In the end, I did a proper good job on a couple aspects of this instrument and kept within budget, I would like to see it refinished well and some original style hardware put in place. It is worth it.
